Everyone likes free things, being gifted. They like to feel like they are being appreciated for choosing to buy from your business despite the other brands out there that they could be buying from. You on the other hand should take adequate advantage of this longing for free services and use it to your advantage.

When someone gifts you an item or maybe gets you a voucher for some percentages off your next shopping from your favorite store, you automatically feel a deep sense of appreciation and warmth for the giver. It is this warmth you should be hoping to ignite in your customers, so next time they still choose to patronize you even if there are a million other brands selling the same goods and offering exact services as you do.

Discounts, promos and freebies are a few ways you can get into the hearts of your customers and have them constantly thinking of your brand. These tactics will not cost you so much but will fetch you generous profits and gain you loyal customers.

Sometimes, I wait for a brand to run a discount before I buy what i have been eyeing for a while. Many other customers will be wearing these shoes too. It isn’t necessary to run a discount sale always if you will be at a loss, just find a timing that works for you.

Another thing is that you as the entrepreneur gets to decide what you want to discount, what percentage or amount of money you want to discount, who you want to give the discount to and how long you want your discount to run for. You are on the drivers seat and you should take charge. Discounts may only be available to existing customers to appreciate their continuous patronage, or to new customers only to build relationships or loyalty. Whichever discount scheme you choose to apply, make sure it doesn’t strain your business but builds it and generates tangible sales.

Promos

In flat terms, promos are publicity and advertising pieces usually in the form of a short film or video. However, now when you hear about a business having a promo, it hints at something beneficial for the buyer. A promo sales might cover discounts on goods, freebies being attached to purchase, free shipping or delivery, coupons for next purchases, buy a certain amount and get some free. Promos for a business is like throwing a dog a bone, it will surely grab it. It is essential to have some sort of promo sales in your business. I can’t tell you how often it should be, you get to decide that yourself. Also the choice on what to run your promo on is based on you. Don’t be afraid to try different schemes till you find what generates more sales and lead for your business. Another business might get more sales when they offer a coupon code for the next purchase, while your business may gain more sales when you advertise a buy two get one free offer.

Freebies

These are free gifts or services given when a customers buys something as a form of appreciation for their patronage. Free gifts can range from expensive items to cheap items, what really counts is the thought. Some gifts are customized with brand logos, stickers or tagline to personalize it. Businesses use this strategy of freebies to win customers as everyone likes gifts. It is advisable to give a gift that is reasonable and that resonates with what you sell. Remember, it doesn’t have to be expensive, but thoughtful, it would have your customers happy and screaming awwwwwww 😍
