Crepe is a weaving or fabric treatment method that results in a unique rippling, three-dimensional texture. Garments and other textiles made with crepe fabric are usually of good quality.

Crepe fabrics are in this day used to make all types of clothing as they make for smooth and distinct designs. Crepes come in different kinds and variations.

There are thick crepes and light ones (these are referred to as soft crepes or chiffon crepes). Some crepes stretch whilst others do not stretch. They come in different plain colours or engrained with different patterns.

Personally, Crepe is one of my favourite fabrics to work with when making ready-to-wear clothes. They make for neat finished work with the right amount of skill and they are highly durable. You can use them to design a countless number of pieces with the aid of your creativity.
