Chantilly is a light lace type of fabric created with threads to form floral patterns usually on net fabric. It became popular in the 18th century in France. It is a very delicate and dainty type of lace and not like the regular lace which features appliqués, sequins and other extravagances.
Chantilly lace is handmade from bobbin thread and is named after the city of Chantilly, France. I particularly like how the name sounds as it rolls out the tongue, ‘Chan-til-ly’ sounds bougie.
This lace looks particularly good on wedding dresses as it offers depth and romance to the overall gown. Its soft feel also makes it a good choice for a wedding dress or à bridal veil.

Chantilly can also be combined with other types of fabrics in a single piece of clothing to make it pop out more and to spice up the creativity in a design.
