ANOTHER Perfume content for you my fellow aficionados, and this article is an exciting one because it is something we all want. We all know perfumes differ in longevity, and even the really expensive perfumes would start to wear off after some hours (although, because a perfume is expensive doesn’t always mean it’s going to last longer).
You want your perfume to last 1.3 years 🙄 but still self-hygiene should not be swept under the carpet. You shouldn’t be using perfumes to cover smells that are already present. They are meant to prevent such smells from arising in the first place and to smell even better. With these few tricks, notwithstanding the longevity of your bottle, be sure you are going to stretch your fragrance for a few more hours than what you’d normally get, 👍🏼 no cuts, no buts, but make sure to take your bath and brush your teeth.

Trick 1>> Don’t neglect Deodorants and Body mists.
This is the numero uno trick to scent lovely all day. For your underarms, find a good deodorant, it could either be a spray, roll-on or stick. Look for something that has a great and concentrated scent that would help kick back the smell of a sweat from your armpits as you go through your day. It’s medically advised to go for roll-ons without silicone.
Body mists! That has an exclamation mark because it’s not just for the ladies. Body mists are mainly eau de toilettes (EDP), meaning that they have between 5-15% concentration of perfume mixed with alcohol and water. They are light and airy and typically last between 4-6 hours. These lightweight bad boys are the perfect grabs to drench your skin with after you have moisturized. It locks the scent into your skin and slightly enhances your body’s natural scent.
There are different ranges of roll-ons and body mists for men and women. Don’t be boxed into thinking they are for a particular gender alone. Look for fragrances that appeal to your sexuality, style and nostrils and have a blast scenting good.

Trick 2>> Apply Perfumes to Pulse Points.
We have certain points on our bodies that are heated because of the nerves underneath the skin. You can apply 1 or 2 spritzes around these areas to lock your scent in. As these points heat up through the day, your perfume opens up gently from top notes to middle notes to base notes. Some of the pulse points on our bodies are; the wrist, behind the ears, behind your elbows and knees, neck, navel etc. Read this to understand how perfumes and pulse points interact.
Trick 3>> Oily Skins are Magnets.
Yes! The skin serves as a better bed for holding your fragrances if it is oiled up or moisturized. That’s why it’s always a good idea to use perfumes after you’re done bathing, moisturizing and dressing up.
I found this awesome trick on Twitter to rub a thin layer of vaseline (petroleum jelly) on your wrist and behind your ears before spritzing with your perfume. I kid you not! This trick works. Don’t beat it till you try it.
Trick 4>> Spritz from Top to Bottom
I had to include this because I used to be ignorant of this obvious trick till I saw the light. When using perfumes, don’t just concentrate on your top, shirt or blouse. What then happens to your bottoms, pants, skirts or damp smelling jeans?
Don’t leave it out. Depending on the longevity and projection of your perfume, you can choose to do an equal amount of spritz on the top and the bottoms. That way, you are truly covered in the fragrance and not just halfway.

Final tip, you can even start from the very top, your hair. Have your strands scenting good by spritz a dash of perfume on your brush and comb before you run it through your hair.
