I read this book in 2021 when i was about starting up my first business selling perfumes. I was looking for a quick tutorlage on business, the ins and outs, what to do and what not to do, and this book provided the exact knowledge I was looking for and some more.
Currently, I recommend this book as a beginners MSc to all my friends looking to start a business. Sell like Crazy provides the exact gear and drive you’d be looking for to reach your clients and sell to them. I have written out and summarized some key points from the book in hopes that it can shed some light on what the book is about if you plan on reading te book. It could also just be a quick brush up if you don’t have time to go through the whole thing.
Key Points from the Book
- Think like a billionaire. Invest in deep work that produces revenue. Reduce social media. Leave ‘little chores’; keep you busy but don’t make you any money.
- The fate of your business doesn’t lie in you having the best product or service, but in your ability to market your products and services.
- A transaction takes place where in the mind of the consumer, the value of the solution you’re selling outweighs the price you’re asking. 
- You need to understand your market, their deepest desires, their pains, their fears, their hopes and their dreams. That way you can craft marketing messages that effectively communicate how you can solve these problems.
- Use the 4% rule for moving the money needle. focus on the 40% of activity that creates 64% of revenue. Make a list of your business activities, create action plans to help delegate, automate, and outsource, then focus on the major 4%.

- When you focus on solving peoples problem the more sales you will make.
- The ability to write a marketing and sales message and to write convincing ads is a skill to master.
- Your advertisement and sales message should act like an army of tiny sales man soldiers.
- Don’t just announce “we exist, so by our stuff” instead give a compelling reason why they should do business with you, give useful, helpful information in your advertisements.
- If you can’t pay money to acquire a new customer then you don’t have a business. Advertisement is key, it is an investment that makes more money than anything else.

- The larger market formula state that 3% of people are in the buying mood in any given market at any given time.
- 17% of people are in the information gathering mood, 20% are aware of their problems and need of the product or service, while 60% are not problem aware.
- Have a system in place to capture and nurture the other 97%.
- Educate them the more they know the more likely they are to buy if you are the one educating them you are also making sure that when they hit the final stage they’ll be likely to buy from you
- Your message must be powerful, insightful, and education based, not simply a promotional piece about your company.
- Install a system that attracts, educates, nurtures and gets prospects to acts.
- Research and create your dream buyers based on; where they hang out, where they get their information, their biggest frustrations and challenges, their hopes, dreams and desires, their biggest fears, their preferred forms of communication, what language, phrases, or vernacular they use, what does a day in their life look like, and what makes them happy.

- High-value content offer (HVCO) is offering value to your customers without asking for a sale in return, you give before you ask. Aim to educate rather than sell and you will sell.
- Your sales copy must be entertaining and engaging.
- Three ways you can influence people to buy from you; talking about how good you are, having others talk about how good you are and demonstrating how good you are.
- High-value contents offer must be geared towards mass market appeal, answering prominence burning questions and providing an immediate solution to that problem, all why drawing in as many targeted people as possible.
- Some rules of high value content rules includes: Have attention grabbing headlines has intrigue— Use powerful headline words like alarming, must, shocking, exposed, revealed, secret, must know. Every point should touch a burning issue and keep it simple.
- Don’t be afraid to address how your products and services fill the gap. Make irresistible offers, making huge claims and big promises.
- Make sure you understand your products, its features ( details and specifications) and the benefits it will do for the buyers.
- When creating your sales offer, make sure it includes what you are selling, its cost, who should take immediate action and how to buy it. Finally, your offer should be bold specific and possibly with risk reversal.
